Otsego Academy at Pathfinder Village offers creative, individualized options that improve preparation for employment for students with disabilities who have completed their high school education. At the same time, attending the Academy strengthens independent living and social thinking skills necessary for life success.
At Otsego Academy, our students access a comprehensive and meaningful curriculum, participate in supervised internships in a variety of settings, and live in a setting that facilitates personal responsibility and greater independence.
Research shows that students with disabilities who participate in post-secondary education are more likely to work in competitive settings, use fewer work-related supports, and earn more.
Academy students live in a beautiful colonial home centrally located in Pathfinder Village. In a family-style setting, students share responsibilities for managing a shared living environment, while staff support and facilitate independence tailored to each student's needs. Students also enjoy campus-based activities, clubs, and access to nearby Cooperstown.
